Enjoy The Elegance Of The Country Club In Blackhawk

Blackhawk Ranch, located in the foothills of Mt. Diablo, was originally a ranch where prized thoroughbreds graced this natural splendor. In the late 70's, Blackhawk was transformed into a 4800-acre gated country club community. What makes Blackhawk so spectacular is that you don't have to leave home to enjoy the amenities of a world-class resort; all in the serenity of the thousands of acres of open space and parkland that surrounds and meanders the community, and the school statistics are some of the highest in the area.

Breathtaking tree-lined streets, country estates, villas and several gated communities exude a feel of another time and place. Truly, Blackhawk is the quintessential community for those who demand the very best.

Six distinct gated communities reside within prestigious Blackhawk. They are joined by a 3-mile tree-lined jogging path. Blackhawk Country Club is by far the largest of these communities with two 24-hour guard gates. This distinct development is surrounded by thousands of acres of open space winding through ancient oaks, blossoming specimen trees and views of Mt. Diablo and the San Ramon Valley. Homes in within the gates of the Country Club range from 2,000 square foot townhouses to estates in excess of 30,000 square feet. The Blackhawk Country Club community is enhanced by two golf courses, each with a award-winning designed clubhouse. The golf courses are referred to as the Lakeside and the Falls Golf courses.

A commercial and business center resides just outside the gates of Blackhawk – Blackhawk Plaza. Numerous restaurants with indoor and outdoor dining, a movie theatre, Gottchalk's Department Store and all services you will need are nearby. Also, a plaza with Safeway's, Long's Drugs and ACE Hardware include numerous smaller shops and gas stations.

Blackhawk residents enjoy their own shopping village, with first-class fashionable boutiques. You can spend the day at the world-renowned Blackhawk Classic Auto Museum, a 100,000-square-foot multi-level glass-and-granite architectural masterpiece that showcases an ever-changing exhibition of over 100 of the world's greatest autos dating from the 1890's. Afterward, you can dine at any one of the numerous superb dining establishments that have made Blackhawk a destination for out-of-town guests.

Country Club

From its beginning, Blackhawk enjoyed prestige. Bruce Devlin/Robert Von Hagge designed the 6904-yard, dramatic Lakeside golf course featuring an island on the 18th green! The Falls golf course was designed by Ted Robinson, and features five lakes and a spectacular waterfall. Because of the incredible views and dramatic utilization of Blackhawk's natural terrain, these are some of the most challenging courses in the world!

Tennis anyone? Blackhawk's award-winning 20 courts are fully landscaped, and a clubhouse and pro shop complete the picture. Many tournaments have been won on these courts, and there are tennis clubs, camps and social events for everyone from children to seniors.

The Blackhawk Swim Club boasts award-winning teams year after year. The competition-sized swimming pool includes grassy hiss areas for watching the competition as well as enjoying the Fourth of July BBQ, which has become a tradition in the area. Lessons, camps, competitions, exercise classes and lap swimming are enjoyed in the year-round swimming pool, and there's another Olympic-sized swimming pool in case one is just too busy and you want some quiet time to read a book or sunbathe!

The 25-acre Sports and Recreation Center houses acres of parks, basketball courts, outdoor sand volleyball courts, a children's play park and an amphitheatre, and showers for all of your leisure activities.

Do you want to socialize? The Lakeside Clubhouse has just been renovated. This pinnacle of luxury and elegant clubhouse features cozy as well as stately dining rooms, a lakeside terrace facing the 18th green and lake, and houses a broad selection of sumptuous cuisine presented by an exceptional staff. The Lakeside Clubhouse includes less formal dining while gazing over the surrounding hills that peacefully seclude Blackhawk from the world. Both clubhouses include full-service pro shops for your convenience.

Hidden Oak

Hidden Oaks CA
The Entrance To Hidden Oaks

This collection of 206 home sites premiered in 1978 as the Blackhawk's first of six gated communities, and was one of the most highly anticipated collection of homes established in Northern California. Guarded gates were a fairly new concept in the area, and builder's were hand selected to bring their most innovative designs to set the pace for Blackhawk. Most lots are at least ˝ acre with many homes nestled to permanent open space belonging to either the Blackhawk community or Mt. Diablo.
Today, Hidden Oaks has evolved into a wonderful family-oriented community with emphasis on family activities. Easter egg hunts, Halloween parades and block parties are common in this community.
Today, many feel this community is the most private and serene of all the Blackhawk communities because of the very manicured landscaping and towering trees throughout the neighbors. When you enter through the gates, an open field of oak trees will soon greet you with a sign "Slow, children and squirrels at play" which set's the tone of this wonderful community.

Oakridge

The Entrance To Oakridge Village

Oakridge includes fewer children (than other Blackhawk communities) and many couples and residents desiring smaller, quaint lots with great floor plans choose to reside in Oakridge. This gated community features one main road and a few smaller streets. The atmosphere is pleasant, with well-kept single family homes ranging in size from about 1900 to 3000 square feet. At the top of one of the private courts, however, you will find some of the most lavish estates in the entire area! Oak trees and hills set the stage for this incredible community.
Homes in Oakridge tend to be contemporary in design, utilizing space to maximize interest in the designs. This is an extremely popular area for residents desiring privacy when they return home behind the OakRidge gates each day. This is an extremely peaceful, quiet community with neighbors quick to assist one another.

Saddleback

For the equestrian-minded family, Saddleback is for you! Mostly 5-acre estates sprinkle the hills of Saddleback, and you will see some horses, but many estates include merely the ultimate in views and privacy as this is one of the finest developments within the Blackhawk area, with plenty of room to roam.
Saddleback was the second developed area within Blackhawk. Like the other communities within Blackhawk, you are joined to the other communities by a 3-mile jogging path meandering through the subdivisions.

Real Estate Tips

Cosmetic Improvements >Cosmetic Repairs

The better your home in looks while it is on the market, the more likely it is to sell quickly, and for the best price. When you have a listing appointment with a real estate agent, the agent will provide a detailed market analysis along with the advantages of listing with their company. He or she will then go through your home with you and make suggestions about cosmetic repairs that will help to present your home at its best.

The real estate agent's recommendations can make some sellers uncomfortable and a little defensive because they are reminders of all the "little" projects they have postponed. Real estate agent's occasionally encounter a homeowner who "has it all together", but such people are rare! Most sellers need suggestions about repairs that will make their home show well, and providing these ideas is an important part of a real estate agent's job.
