About Alamo, Danville & Diablo

Alamo CA
A Historic Cemetery In Alamo

Alamo is a wonderful little town--both charming and historic. Alamo is the most tranquil and "off the beaten path" area in the San Ramon Valley Community. It adjoins Danville and Walnut Creek, and remains one of the least populated towns, hosting fewer residences than most of the other towns in Contra Costa County, so there's a true country feel to the area. The year 1852 marked the San Ramon Valley's first post office and the only post office between Martinez and Mission San Jose.

Most of the homes are located on l/2 acre properties that were once orchards and wheat fields. It boasts the steepest paved road in Contra Costa County, which is Castle Crest Road. It climbs a third of Mt. Diablo's west face, rivaling Filbert Street in San Francisco.

Alamo's heavily landscaped terrain and valleys provide seclusion and serenity for residents enjoying a quieter pace of living in the area. Community activities center around the two shopping centers across from one another in the middle of town. There, you'll find just about everything you need!

Real Estate Tips

Closing or Settlement >Final Arrangements

Some homebuyers approach the final days of the home sale transaction with great enthusiasm, feeling utterly confident that the end is in sight, and feeling completely organized about the move. They have accounted for every detail, contacting the moving company, arranging for the transfer of their telephone, electric, water, and gas accounts and having the home professionally cleaned. They start checking off the days until the closing on their calendar. But in reality, the closing may not be entirely predictable.

It is very useful for homebuyers (and sellers) to remember that closing dates are not set in stone. Lenders, appraisers, title attorneys, credit check services, and anyone else who is involved in the transactions can potentially cause a delay in the closing. If buyers keep this in mind while making arrangements, they can minimize the possible cost and inconveniences due to a delay.

As the closing approaches, the real estate agent will stay on top of the situation and keep in touch with everyone involved in the transaction to prevent any unnecessary delays.
